This assignment was quite enjoyable for me to complete this week! This assignment reminded me of how much I love to pin! What I enjoy most about Pinterest is that you can pin the things and ideas that you love. Pinterest is a great marketing strategy because people love to look at pictures compared to looking at words at times. “Content is not limited to words; smart marketers make use of nontext content — including photos, audio feeds, video clips, cartoons, charts, and graphs — to inform and entertain site visitors… Photos are powerful content when page visitors see that the images are an integrated coponent of the website” (Scott, 193). Also, it has wonderful home improvement ideas and ways that you can interiorly decorate your home. What I think is extremely useful for a business is that they are able to put themselves out in the social media front. I think that Pinterest Contests for businesses are a great way for businesses to show how much they appreciate their buyers and customers. Also, a great business tactic is for businesses to give back to their customers that love their stores, and these contests are a wonderful way to connect with them. At first, It was pretty difficult for me to find a contest that I was going to enjoy entering, but I was excited to find a Pinterest Contest with Saks Fifth! The Saks Fifth Avenue POV Contest wanted the pinner to pin 6 items that they would want to give this Christmas. The contest also required you to name the board and to make sure it was something that was creative. Even though it was expired, I am planning on entering into the contest for the next time around. I never entered into a Pinterest contest until this assignment, and it has inspired me to try for them.
